Measles a disease that in the 9th century (860-932) was
described by the Persian physician Muhammad ibn Zacariya al-Razi
who differentiated it from smallpox by its symptoms and signs
clinical
It was introduced to the Americas in the 17th century by the
colonizers, it was not until 1954 that J Enders and T. Peebles1
achieve the isolation of the virus in the blood and secretions of
patients by inoculation into cell cultures
humans and apes, the first isolated strain was named
Edmoston with the name of the first patient isolated
for the production of a vaccine.
